Canoe's at the City Basin

The Mercia Canoe Club is the canoe section of the Coventry Canal Society. The club is based at the heart of Coventry, in the old basin warehouses, and welcomes beginners of all ages. Qualified coaches organise fun canoeing sessions for all at the Canal basin on Saturdays from 2 to 3pm. All the equipment is provided and all you need are some old clothes and a towel!

The start of the annual "Avon Descent" organised by the club

The club has a range of kayaks, canoes and equipment of different sizes to suit young and old. Visitors' sessions cost £3 for under 18 and £4 for adults (01/01/05). Annual membership is available allowing unrestricted access on a Saturday and including membership to the Coventry Canal Society. Access to the club is from Leicester Row (first left turn off Foleshill Rd as you leave the city ring road). The club operates from Unit 1. of the old warehouse building, the last door on your right. Trips are arranged to Warwick and Stratford on Avon as well as further a field to the river Dart on Dartmoor and North Wales.

If you are a group of people from work, a youth or other group, Scouts, Guides, from a school or college why not contact the club to arrange a special canoeing session to meet your needs?
